After nearly a week of camping inside due to my body overtaken by yucky germs, I have finally ventured out! My parents have a cute, little town square where they live lined with beautiful brick buildings, gorgeous landscaping, and on Saturdays lined with vendors selling anything from baked goods to homegrown fruits and vegetables to yummy jellies and jams. I love farmers markets and seeing streets lined with the hard work of diligent, hardworking farmers. It was a fun morning walking the streets and getting fresh air!
^^Homemade jellies and jams galore!
^^We loved this little stand! We purchased the next three days worth of fresh fruits and vegetables at this stand and so far they have no disappointed.
^^My mother!!
^^There are a couple of stands where you can order lunch (i.e. Bobalou’s BBQ above or the cute Crepe man below) and then stop by the cupcake stand below for some delicious cupcakes!! I gobbled down their chocolate peanut butter cupcake in record time. It may have been one of the best cupcakes I have ever had (or maybe that is just the pregnant woman in my talking!).
^^This stand has any flavor of pasta you could ever think of. Dark Chocolate Linguine?! Why not!
^^The people in The Villages, FL love, LOVE their dogs. The streets were lined with people walking their dogs, or walking their dog strollers (yes, that is right). Only my mother and I went to the square this morning, but if we would have taken Taden he would have died – see post here.
I am grateful for the fresh air I was able to get today and that my body is beginning (cross my fingers) the slow recovery process ahead of me. I am also grateful for my parents living in a warm, cute place to visit!!
