This past weekend was full!! Full of family. Full of fun. And, full of food!! Saturday consisted of a cookout at Geoff’s uncles, in which I was in charge of bringing a dessert, and then Sunday was spent with family at our house to celebrate Maddie’s blessing day, which consisted of desserts, desserts and more desserts!! Basically I spent the entire weekend in the kitchen with sugar as my date. Not a bad way to spend the weekend, eh?! (minus the gym hours I will be hitting to make up for this weekend – love/hate relationship sugar and I have going on). Back to the point of this post…
I made this cake for Sunday’s festivities. It was a light, three layered, lemony cake, filled with fresh blueberries, and topped with a light, lush cream cheese frosting. Each bite was filled with bursts of bright flavors and was a perfect treat for a beautiful, spring day (thank you for finally showing up around here!!).
To find the recipe for this yummy-licious cake see Sally's blog here. You will not regret whipping this cake up for a brunch with the girls, backyard BBQ or just to indulge your sweet tooth into. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did (which was probably WAY too much!!).
