Sometimes being an adult is a little less than desirable (or am I the only one that feels that way?!). I remember the days when the biggest stress in my life was what I wanted to wear to school the next day or what brand of cereal I wanted to have that morning (I seriously worried about that!). Now I have to worry about budgets and bills, insurance and investing, keeping a house clean and tidy and folding endless loads of laundry!! How and when did life get to be so complicated?!
These days Geoff and I have been complicated our lives with this………
Look familiar to anyone?! If you have ever purchased a home I am sure you are more familiar with it than you ever wanted to be, ever!! We are on the hunt for a new casa (actually our first) for our ever-growing family.
It is a very exciting time for The Stevens clan, but also overwhelming. There are so many variables to think about and consider when purchasing a house, and children complicate the mix quite a bit more… i.e. number of bedrooms, enough space for them to play/destroy, oh and the all important school district considerations!! And the market we are looking in complicates itself enough when homes sign under contract with being on the market for a little over 12 hours! Yes, that happened today! Found a great house late afternoon yesterday, booked a showing for 9:30 am today, received a text from realtor at 7 am the house had an offer, received another text from realtor at 9 am the showing was off because the house was now under contract. Totally crazy!! That is the market we are looking in – sound fun?! It is not!
So the search continues… we seem to be viewing homes daily but we haven’t found “the one” yet. I am hoping when we do we will just know. Kind of like what “they” say when you find your spouse… you will just know! [Does that really happen?!]
Here is to being an adult!! Some things I love (i.e. being married, having babes) but other things are not on my ‘top ten’ list at this very moment (i.e. purchasing a home).
Wish us luck!! Obviously updates will be posted here when progress is made (hopefully sooner than later).
