Yes I promise, we are coming to a close with vacation pictures, my friends!! Just hold on tight for one more post (not including this one!).
We are fortunate enough to not only have my parents living in Florida, but Geoff’s brother, sister-in-law and two beautiful kids live in Tampa (just over an hour from my parents!). With families continuing to grow and time flying by too quickly these days, we do not get to see everyone as often as we would like. Geoff’s brother’s family were gracious enough to come to my parents home for the day and enjoy all that The Villages (where my parents reside) has to offer and we were able to head down to Tampa later that week for another day of fun with them! It is so fun to see all the kids play with one another and I cannot wait to watch them grow up together through the years.
They visited early in the week when Tate rarely made any movement from this first step! He was perfectly content sitting there and watching everyone else swim, play and splash. He is my little cautious-kid.
After 30-minutes or so of watching everyone from the first step, Tate decided to venture out. It took a little coercing and heaving breathing, but he did it!
And, eventually he warmed up to it!
Me and my mini-me!! It was so fun sharing this sweet girl with family, but I love the look she gives me when someone else is holding her and she catches glimpse of “her mama.” It melts my heart when she gazes at me and just smiles.
This is about as good as we could get! Everyone has their eyes open = check! No one is crying = check! Ok, so my standards are not set very high.
Tate loves watermelon (quite an understatement!). This was his first time eating it whole. I would say he loved it. Thanks to my wonderful parents for the yummy cookout and great hospitality to Geoff’s family!!
On Memorial Day we headed down to Tampa and visited the Florida Aquarium for the day.
The exhibit had a cool rainforest area, even with Lemurs!!
Don’t you worry, we brought plenty of trucks to entertain Tate since the aquarium is so boring (sense my sarcasm?!). This boy and his trucks…
The aquarium even has a splash pad (actually I would call it quite a bit more than a “splash pad”!!) that the kids were able to enjoy after the exhibits. These two are just over 7 weeks a part! Oh how fun it is going to be to watch them grow up together!!
