Lately I have been feeling slightly overwhelmed with everything I have and want to be doing in my life. With furnishing our new house, keeping up with friends and family, finishing personal projects and goals and I want to accomplish, managing church callings and other day-to-day tasks my time is more than full. Each day I find I have to “cut” things I have/want to do out to fit in other things. I have been finding myself letting the kids ‘occupy’ themselves more and more versus getting down on the ground and playing with them or curling up on the couch and reading to them as much as I use to/would like to.

As I was doing my personal study the other day, I came across this, “we need to put more quality time and effort into strengthening family relationships. After all, “the family is ordained of God. It is the most important unit in time and in eternity.”’ HELLO!! Can you say ‘repent, repent Casey!!’ Those phrases hit me really hard and have had me thinking and reprioritizing my days and thoughts. There are so many good things I want to be doing and working on every day. For example, I would love to be reading more books, editing more pictures or building this blog more. Those are all good things to be working on, but are they better or the best things? I love this quote as it always helps me to refocus when I need to the most, “We should begin by recognizing the reality that just because something is good is not a sufficient reason for doing it. The number of good things we can do far exceeds the time available to accomplish them. Some things are better than good, and these are the things that should command priority attention in our lives.

The most important thing to me truly is my wonderful husband and amazing children. They are what matter. They are my eternity. They are my best. I am grateful for humbling reminders to help me regain perspective and to better focus on the best things in this life.
