Lately there are many articles circulating the internet about “us” stay-at-home moms (SAHM). Some call us lazy. Many call us complainers. Most call us ungrateful. My heart has been so sad to read some of these posts as I do not think of myself in anyway as the authors portray SAHMs. So, just to make it clear, I wanted to express how thankful I am for my opportunity to stay-at-home right now with my children.
Really. I am. So. Very. Thankful.
At least every other day (if not every day!!) I thank Geoff for helping us to work as a team to provide me with the opportunity to stay home with our kids. Every morning when I say my prayers, I thank my Heavenly Father with all my heart for giving me this blessing. I know not every one has this opportunity, if they would choose it or not, but I do right now. And, what a wonderful opportunity it is! It is hard, but everything has it challenges right? My days are long, but isn’t everybody’s?
So, to those that think all SAHM’s are lazy, only complain about their kids and lives all day, and are completely ungrateful for the opportunity they have to sleep in until 10am and relax on the couch all day (which is not exactly what I do), please know that at least one of us (and I know many more) is very grateful to stay home with her crazy, chaotic, wonderful, amazing children all day.
And, just because I have the most amazing husband ever, he found and sent me this article last week and included the following message,
“Thank you for all you do for our family. It’s a blessing for me! I love you.”
Winner right there!!
