EASTER FESTIVITIES

On Saturday, we enjoyed finding eggs at a park with friends from church! It was mostly cold and muddy, but the kids still enjoyed themselves. I get really excited over things like this and end up raiding the grocery store for fun candy and a few new eggs to fill for the kids. Then comes Monday, and I am left with bags full of candy and no self-control and, let's be honest, end up eating way too much candy than I am willing to admit. Why do I do this to myself?!
On Sunday, we traveled to Columbus to spend the day with family and, again, eat entirely too much food (more specifically candy). I'm so thankful for this Easter season. Not just for the chance to raid my kids candy stash, but for what this season represents ... new life, new chances, new beginnings. Usually I do not give this time of year much thought. I am so over winter and the bitterness it brings for far too long I am just ready for summer! This year, though, I have really enjoyed watching the spring flowers pop up, the sound of baby birds chirping and all the new life spring brings. I am so grateful for this time of year. For this season to reflect on my Savior and all that He has done for me to be able to live again with Him and my family forever.

Happy Easter! I hope it was a beautiful weekend filled with loved ones (and a little bit of candy too!).
^^This little guy made out like a bandit during our egg hunt. I guess that will happen when you are one of two grandkids and the other was napping during the hunt!
^^Our only family photo from the weekend. Oh how I love this crazy, wiggly, energetic family of mine!

Our weekend was also filled with watching General Conference, a semiannual meeting where leaders of our church teach, direct and guide us. It is one of my favorite weekends! If you missed any of the sessions, you can catch them all HERE!
